SUPERSTITIOUS WORLD DURING COVID-19

‘Superstition’ is like an internal disease of human beings in India.

Superstition is a word which simply means, an irrational, unscientific and blindly accepted human belief or notion. Superstition in India is one of the biggest stigma affecting the mental growth of the people and progress of the country now a days. It is becoming the biggest social contemporary issue in India, which is now rapidly snatching all the other major headlines of the newspaper by getting flooded on them. On one hand, the serious outbreak of a pandemic disease of Novel Coronavirus is washing away the world’s economy, and on the other hand the Indians has triggered the surge of several superstitions to fight back with it. Well, it is rightly said that, THE WHOLE WORLD IS SHUT DOWN, BUT THE MARKET OF SUPERSTITION CAN NEVER BE SHUT!!

Novel Coronavirus is a serious rapid evolving disease which cannot be fight alone with such beliefs, instead of fighting Novel corona with superstitions, the world needs to follow sound health care steps, and then all should unite together for fighting this battle by leaving all their superstitious thoughts aside. Moreover, studies also show that Superstition is a very serious and ill mental health issue . In the present situation of a serious pandemic disease also, people have made their own countless, unscientific superstitions like, from bathing in cow dung to coloring their fingers with black pen for avoiding corona, from hanging chilies and lemons in front of their houses to tying their one leg with red thread to avoid corona and etc. many other countless beliefs. Though superstitions are widespread and treated as social evil but still there is always a root cause for everything and in the present situation of ‘Superstition’, illiteracy and lack of quality of education is the main root cause for it, which is the other ‘social contemporary issue’ of our country.

CONCLUSION:

Superstition has deeply rooted in India since ages. The govt. of India is working hard in hands to spread awareness about it. People should simply follow it and have faith in their own selves rather than spreading fake superstitions rumours
It’s the time to face the reality & have faith in doctors, government and in you!
