Adulting is hard, isn’t it! There are a million things we need to take care of- career, finances, parents, kids and social obligations- well the list is endless really!! Sometimes in the midst of taking care of everything and everyone, we forget to take care of our own self. Here are a few tips that might help make you feel better when anxiety over-whelms you. These are small tricks that won’t need you to recluse yourself to a spiritual retreat, but can be done in your day to-day routine.

1. TAKE UP AN OLD HOBBY –

Remember how we use to do certain things when we were young just because they were enjoyable. Whatever it is that you use to enjoy- dance, sports, baking, art that you use to have fun while doing, go back to it. Do not make it about being good at it, just enjoy the activity while you do it and go with the flow. Let the feeling of doing something just for fun set in.

2. WRITE YOUR DREAMS AS IF THEY HAVE ALREADY COME TRUE-

The word ‘Manifestation’ has been quite big on popularity these past few years. Write down about your dreams as if they have already come true. Focus on how it would make you feel, what you would do once those are achieved. You can even go as far as thanking the universe for the blessing. Hold that feeling of content, happiness and pure bliss. Writing down how we feel gives our thoughts and feelings a physical form, getting you one step closer to manifesting it!

3. CLEAN UP-

Sometimes the simplest pleasures of life can help us feel relaxed and at ease. If you have been feeling too caught up and your life too chaotic, take a day or an evening off. Get your space clean, cook something you love or order your favorite food. Take a hot bath and enjoy your favorite meal watching any show or movie you love. Spending quality time with one-self is one of the most under-valued practices in the world.

4. CALL AN OLD FRIEND –

It’s really quite astonishing how easily life takes over and we are not left with enough time to catch up with the old friends we use to spend most of our time with. Call up an old friend and reminisce about the old times- collage or school. You’ll be surprised how good it makes you feel. Reliving good old times and laughing together would help you feel relaxed and put you in a good mood.

5. MUSIC & NATURE-

Play your favorite music and go sit in a park. You can just listen the music and take in your green surroundings or you can take a notebook and jot down some of your thoughts and feelings that you haven’t been able to share with anyone lately. You can even play songs that take you back to times that you cherish songs that you loved in school and college and let that nostalgia do its magic!
